Wall Mounted Telephone 1972, USSR, Permskiy Telefonniy Zavod The TAH-B telephone was designed for voice communication in explosion hazardous areas and external installations of the chemical industry. The TAH-B model was made with spark-safe circuits. The device was wall-mounted and its design enabled it to be easily adapted into a desktop version. The casing of the telephone and the bell were made of high impact-resistant plastic. To ensure explosion resistance, the phone had the following features: coil block ringer with an anti-sidetone block covered in special compound. Explanation: Compound is a thermosetting, thermoplastic polymer resin (cured under natural conditions) and is used as an electro-insulating material and as a means of explosion protection.
