Field telephone exhibition in the two capitals
The two exhibitions will feature field telephones from the Great Patriotic War, devices which provided Soviet troops with reliable communications during heavy fighting. The centerpiece of both exhibitions will be a military tent (resembling a small secret headquarters), which will house several dozen military field telephones. Our guides will explain and demonstrate how these telephones were used during the war years.
In addition, visitors to the interactive exhibition in St. Petersburg will be able to take part in exciting workshops. Great Patriotic War experts will show you how to obtain an electric charge (in field conditions) using only a lemon, a few coins and nickel-plated nails. A replica ‘field kitchen’ will also be set up, where everyone will be treated to a soldier's porridge and tea.
The organization of such events by the Museum of Telephone History is an expression of our profound gratitude and appreciation to all the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
We invite residents and guests of Moscow and St. Petersburg to take part in this event and to thank our grandfathers and great-grandfathers for the Great Victory.
